The Setsubune Festival features the throwing of beans to ward off evil spirits. Three sisters eat Ehomaki, and Ehomaki refers to the maki-zushi (sushi roll) eating which on the day of Setsubun is considered to bring good luck, or the custom centered around the Kinki region of eating the ehomaki.
