Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Gender: Female Estimated Date of Birth: September 1, 2010 Size: 52lbs Location: Dallas, GA RESCUING JODI Jodi was seized on a warrant during a multistate dogfighting raid. There was not enough evidence to prove she was used in dog fighting and she was scheduled to be euthanized. We pulled Jodi from Dekalb County a few days later after we learned of her horrible condition. How could we not? An emaciated mother to four pups, she was unable to care for them due to an infection in her nipples and three of the pups did not make it. This sweet girl had a horrible injury to her back leg where the bone and ligaments were exposed. Unfortunately, we were unable to save her leg as there was no blood flow to that area for it to heal properly and her toes went necrotic and died. On the day of her amputation, Jodi's bloodwork revealed that she was too anemic for the surgery. We brought her back in the next day with Spock. Spock was once a skinny, abandoned boy who was dumpster diving ... this was his chance to pay it forward. Dr. Spock donated his blood to Jodi via a blood transfusion. Jodi underwent surgery and gets around just fine as a tripod. There was too much infection in her leg when it was amputated so Dr. Leathers did not spay her at the time for fear that the infection would spread. Jodi has since been spayed, has gained much needed weight and is ready for her forever home. ABOUT JODI Jodi is a real sweetheart - she is crate trained, house broken, and full of wiggles. She loves to play with the other dogs and her lack of a back leg does not slow her down. Although she does not have the endurance for long walks, she likes to roll in the grass and sit in your lap. She is also a bit of a silly towel-thief! She will gather towels from the bathroom and hoard them in her crate to make a nice cozy bed for herself. Jodi has never met a stranger ... she loves everybody! We even put her in our doggie kissing booth at an event and she LOVED handing out kisses! Jodi would be perfect for someone looking for a sweet, easy going companion. She would absolutely love to join you for your next Netflix marathon.
