Originally Aired: 11/29/19 This Is The 2:2 Episode Of The JoshMaster Review Series Unfortunately It Will Be A Short Review So ? With Me The R42 Subway Car Was Built Between 1969-1970 By St Louis Car Company Replacing BMT Standards & R1 Type Fleet. This Is The Last 60 Foot Car To Be Built For NYCT But They Will Continue To Build 60 Foot Fleets 3 Decades Later Which Would Be The R143. They Were Refurbished Between 1988-1989 With The Overhauling Coming From The Coney Island Shop & The Morrison-Knudsen Company. Some R42 Was Retired & Scrapped Between 2007-2010 With The Arrival Of The R160s And Some R42s Were Kept For Prolonged Service Until Another NTT Would Be There To Replace It. The R42 Is Still Running To This Day On The (J) & (Z) Lines And It’s Considered To Be The Second Longest Running Fleet Of NYCT (But It Wont Be For Long.)
