Weekly fishing reports for NJ/DE region at http://www.thefisherman.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=directory.category&PDIR=74 The 2018 summer flounder season has been mostly slow to get started, but in this weekend’s video forecast from The Fisherman we meet a handful of Jersey Girls who have seriously been getting in done on the fluke grounds with fish up to 10 pounds, 12 ounces in the Manasquan. More weakfish are being reported in the southern and central stretch, while northern coastal anglers are still looking for another shot of good striped bass action from Seaside to Sandy Hook. Tournament wise, Staten Island Tuna Club is offering one more shot at $100K this Father’s Day weekend in a 24-hour striper showdown (situnaclub.com), while the June sharking continues with three tournaments this week – the 40th Annual Mako Fever shark tournament kicks off with captains meeting Friday and NINE-DAYS of tournament fishing through June 24; you also have the Mako Rodeo out of Hoffman’s and the Forked River Tuna Club event kicking of with captains meeting on Friday night. The first Jersey Shore sheepshead of the season, a 64-pound drum in 6 feet of water off Union Beach, and our weekly offshore forecast returns with word on yellowfin coming by way of the local canyons.
