Chicks and chickens are made to suffer in their shorted lives at the hands and machines of the KFC/YUM corporation. Some of the sadistic treatment that these highly intelligent and emotional creatures are made to endure when bred for KFC buckets include: Suppliers that cram birds into huge waste-filled factories for their entire lives painfully breathing in ammonia filled air and not once feeling the sun on their backs. Baby chicks have their beaks sliced off and often die from the shock or from starvation. Suppliers breed and drug them to grow so large that they can't even walk, and often break their wings and legs and are then left to die this way with no medical care. At slaughter, the live birds throats are slit factory style and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water - they are often still fully conscious. In undercover investigations, suppliers have been videotaped kicking birds, stomping on them, throwing them against the walls, and spitting tobacco in their eyes.
