"KIRA (Reincarnation)" is a two-character, experimental theatrical production by Yuna Shapatava about love strong enough to last the eternity. The play is based on two of her own novels, "Kira" and "Davitis Mziani." The piece was presented by Theater for the New City as part of its 2019 Dream Up Festival on August 25 and August 30 for its American debut, directed by the author.
KIRA is humanly dramatic story of eternal love (drama, philosophy, existentialism, mysticism), with happy ending from the existential point of view, about human love, reincarnated into the ephemeral woman and a man (both eternal), continuously happening beyond space and time with strong emphasize on the faith, love, true human values and continuity of life cycle and soul journey through different dimensions, bodies, spaces, elements, representing endless “reincarnation”.
All actions happen in imagination meanwhile existing in “reality”.
Yuna Shapatava and Ulysses Heyward play the lovers. It is the first on stage collaboration of the actors.
