Kiritiri bodaboda operators protest decrying hefty bribe demands by police

Road transport along the Embu-Kiritiri Machakos-Kitui Road was temporarily interupted after boda boda operators blocked the passage protesting against police bribery. The road was blocked at Mecca center, three kilometers away from the Kiritiri police station. The boda boda operators claimed that they have suffered for more than a year since the police officers started harassing them asking for not less than five thousand shillings each time one of them is arrested.
