The MACC has found no truth to allegations of corruption being the cause of the recent flash flood in the capital. Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said there was no element of corruption involved in the contracts awarded for drainage works and river cleaning. Asked whether there would be further investigations into the cause of flash flood, he said there was no need to do so. He also explained that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, DBKL, findings had shown that flash flood was due to heavy development work in that area, as well as torrential heavy downpour on that day. The ministry he added was also looking into installing the stormwater retention system here to reduce the recurrence of flash floods. On May 12, almost 100 vehicles were trapped at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim, Jalan Pantai Baru and Jalan Bangsar in the flash flood.
