Kramer guitars are sought after by many 80's metal enthusiast, if you too are caught in the craze, make sure to check out some key things: Kramers have wild and varying parts, pay attention to the pickup configuration, the serial number and plate, the letter affixed before the #, the headstock shape, the logo font size and look, the volume/tone knobs, whether or not it has a pickgaurd, the finish, and even tuning pegs. If you don't wish to go through the hassle most will simply list the model on the headstock, but do keep in mind FLOYD ROSE II = NOT AMERICAN This model says 'Neptune, NJ, USA', it's truly an overseas model. Also bear in mind an OFR (original floyd rose) out performs a FR2, these were cheaper parts for cheaper models. Two main FR2's exist: Single locking & double locking Single locking models are going to be the roughest, while the double locking were made by Schaller in Germany and are decent. Sometimes you will see text below the fine tuners, this should be of some use for determining. The single lock isn't horrible, but nothing to write home about. Lastly this is not a relic'd guitar, this is some serious guitar abuse, and is going to be restored. Here is the site I spoke of in the video: http://www.vintagekramer.com/index.htm So before you go and buy yourself the newest Gibson affiliated Kramer, check that site out and you will have a much better understanding of the models available. Walk out with an affordable Kramer for cheap, simply by being armed with knowledge! Hoping to try this guitar out soon!
