French film dubbed in Russian about the famous Soviet spy Dr. Richard Sorge. Directed by Yves Ciampi, 1961. In 1964, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev saw this film and asked the KGB whether the story was true. When it was confirmed that it was indeed true, Khrushchev posthumously awarded Sorge with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union on 5 November 1964.Sorge's widow Hanako Ishii received a Soviet pension.
