"At the Whirlpools" ("La valtori"- in Romanian) is an complex of traditional rug ("cerga"- in Romanian) processing plants by water power, founded in 1850 an rebuilt in 2000. The complex is located at the entrance in the village Lisa (in the central part of Romania, between Brasov and Sibiu, at 11km south of Sambata de Jos). The rugs are thick woolen fabrics, fluffy, very warm and enduring. The rugs processing takes about two weeks. First they are dipped into the "whirlpool", are taken out, dried well until they get coarse. Then, the rugs are placed on a wooden roll that plucks their hairs out. Further, they are put into the whirlpool to fix the plucket-out hair, and then, wet, to another wooden roll, in the heat (70°C). Finally, the rug are put in the whirpool again for washing and arranging the hairs and then they are drying. In the images appear more modern carpets carried by residents to be cleaned. "La Vâltori" este un atelier complex care reia traditia seculara de prelucrare a cergilor, folosind forta apei. Este situat la intrarea in comuna Lisa care se gaseste in Tara Fagarasului, la 11 Km sud de Sambata de Jos.
