Lacey is an 18mo female husky mix who was rescued as a stray in rural Mississippi. Well-socialized, friendly, affectionate. Great with kids, cats and other dogs. Medium-high energy level outside, calm and well-mannered in the house. Happy and playful, still has a lot of puppy left in her! Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands. Loves to be with her people. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Lacey has one white "husky eye." Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 45 pounds. AWESOME young husky mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed.
Here's a note from her foster mom: "Lacey is a great dog and wants to be with an active family. She loves toys and has recently discovered tennis balls-FUN! She learns fast, understands corrections, and is eager to please. Also, smart and funny, and she loves other dogs, and wants to make friends. She's house trained and crate-trained, sleeps all night in her kennel without a peep until morning!"
What does the AKC Standard say about this breed? The Siberian Husky does not display the possessive qualities of the guard dog, nor is he overly suspicious of strangers or aggressive with other dogs. Indeed, the free-spirited Siberian Husky is usually good-natured with everyone. He is playful, athletic, agile, and light on his feet. He loves the great outdoors and requires vigorous exercise, especially in cool weather. He should be taken running, hiking, and/or biking every day, always on-leash, for he is independent and born to run.
