Landscape Photography | The Italian Job Clouds, rain & gondolas -The End

All good things come to end & sadly my time in the Dolomites is over...boohoo ! I couldn't resist one last drive up the Passo Giau , this time through heavy low cloud & misty rain but even that didn't dampen my spirits . Now to head for Venice , my final destination of this trip . I was determined to visit this time to see those famous Blue Gondolas. I stopped several times on the way down but as the sun was high & the light was harsh I didn't get the camera out . I'd booked a room in Maghera, a couple of miles outside Venice as vehicles aren't allowed on to the islands . This meant catching the bus in for sunrise so another early start . The room I'd booked was in Venice Amazing House & turned out to be more of a hostel but was still warm & comfy .I had intended to go in for sunset however the area of Maghera didn't fill me confidence so I settled for an early night. Venice under-whelmed me , I'm not sure what I was expecting but " The city of Love" didn't impress me . Maybe my expectations were too high ? Hey ho, I'm glad I went , amazed I managed to navigate from the bus terminal to the gondolas & back again & really glad I got the images I'd been wanting.....all the boxes ticked, the itch scratched & I could head home one very very happy bunny.
