Lanesboro, a town of fewer than 800 residents, is located on the Root River in the southeast corner of Minnesota. It features numerous arts and culture offerings including Lanesboro Arts, a multidisciplinary arts organization that supports both emerging and established artists, revitalizes public spaces, and helps builds a sense of community and civic pride.Lanesboro Arts Gallery showcases work by local artists and galleries and studios are plentiful in the area. In June, Lanesboro Arts produces its annual “Art in the Park” festival which brings more than 90 fine arts and craft exhibitors to town sell their work. Other programming includes a artist residencies, free youth education projects, internship programs, performance art, film screenings, opportunities to participate in public art, and placemaking activities.
