LEPCHA - The Hidden Paradise

Mayel Lyang, meaning the hidden paradise is the legendary kingdom of the Lepcha community where they trace their origin from. In the vicinity of the snow clad mountain ranges of Khangchendzonga, amidst the bounty of nature the Lepchas live with their rich cultural heritage since time immemorial. Khangchendzonga is their guardian deity. Their day to day activities, their happiness and wellbeing is believed to be the gift of this great mountain. They are blessed with the natural lustrous greenery, vegetation, streams and springs of this Himalayan range with which they born and grew over centuries… a tradition that still alive.
