Part of my Let's Play of Touhoumon (Aquamentis's version), which can be found here: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151238 My readers get to vote for each new member of my team. Also, my personal stipulations of Set battle style and no using items in battle, because battles are serious business. Here's the team that won the vote: lvl 80 EX Marisa (Magical Mary) lvl 80 Beach Alice (Shinku) lvl 81 Final Patchouli (Mukyue) lvl 80 EX Yamame (Tachikoma) lvl 80 EX Meiling (China-Li) lvl 81 EX Mokou (Mustang) The last battle, with a fittingly awesome remix of Necrofantasia! I'm personally very happy with this run, as it allowed me to use everyone to some degree. Of course, your rival's party changes depending on which starter you chose. Personally, I think choosing Marisa gives you the most epic group of opponents. Here's what I faced: lvl 100 EX Shikieiki (Steel/Psychic, knows Extrasensory, Mirror Coat, Doom Desire, Judgement) lvl 100 Final Rinnosuke (Normal, knows Bulk Up, Extreme Speed, Braver, Shadow Ball) lvl 100 EX Suwako (Water/Ground, knows Waterfall, Earthquake, Body Slam, Mishaguji) lvl 100 Super Flandre (Dark/Fire, knows Steel Fist, Laevatein, Thrash) lvl 100 Final Remilia (Dark/Flying, knows Soar, Aeroblast, Dracula Cradle, Swagger) lvl 100 Last Word Sakuya (Fighting/Steel, knows Sculpture, Soar, Hydro Cannon, Luna Dial) In addition, your rival has 4 Full Restores, and I believe every one of your rival's Touhoumon carries a Lum Berry. A full team of 6 at level 100, at least 4 of which possess 600+ base stat totals. I have to admit, it was quite an ordeal for me to win with no items and about a 20 level deficit. Still, here's all that I could glean. EX Shikieiki is the only character that remains on your rival's team regardless of who your starter is. Judgement is a OHKO move with low accuracy, although I could swear it hits far more often than 30% when the AI uses it. You can wall her other attacks with Dark types, but you'll just risk losing to Judgement eventually. Final Rinnosuke, believe it or not, was by far the hardest thing for me to take down on my earlier attempts. He has a very high stat total with amazing defenses, and Bulk Up lets him easily OHKO almost anything. He may have relatively low base speed, but Extreme Speed compensates and he gets STAB on it anyway. And don't bother trying to burn or poison him as I did; I just realized after the fight that his ability is Guts, which makes him even stronger when afflicted with a status effect. EX Suwako probably poses the lowest threat in a vacuum, but my team is very poorly-equipped to handle her, as she's only got one weakness. Her special attack is notably higher than her attack, but neither is that terrible. I lucked out like crazy when she used Mishaguji instead of Earthquake on Marisa, as Mishaguji is powerful but gets weakened when the user is at low HP. Waterfall or Earthquake probably would have ended it for me right there. But I needed Mana Charge in order to KO her with Dragon Meteo, and the risk paid off handsomely as it lead to a very satisfying conclusion for the fight. Super Flandre is a total glass cannon. A ridiculous 150 or greater in base attack, special attack, and speed, but paper-thin defenses and low HP. The challenge is surviving any one of her attacks, as she could probably outspeed and OHKO most of my team. Thank you, Quick Claw hax. Final Remilia is tankish, like all other Final forms, so her Aeroblast thankfully isn't anywhere near as strong as the one I faced against Lance. Like Final Rumia, she likes using Swagger, so equipping a physical sweeper with a Persim berry and countering her Swagger with your doubled attack power sounds like a good plan. Really now, against most tanks it's usually effective to boost your attack stat first, then overwhelm them. Last Word Sakuya is another glass cannon sweeper, although not nearly as flimsy as Flandre; her defenses are only a little below average. Her attack power is higher than her special attack, and Sculpture is definitely her deadliest move. Ideally, if you're having trouble with her, the best plan might be to sacrifice a Fire or Ground type to Hydro Cannon, then send out someone who can hit her hard while she's stuck recharging from using Hydro Cannon. (By the way, if you're wondering how Alice's Surf made Suwako flinch, it's thanks to Queen's Rock, formerly King's Rock in the original Pokemon games. Here, it's rarely carried by wild Remilia, so I just had Marisa steal it.)
