So, things for worse. A lot worse. I guess Jym's luck was due for a turn, but a bad one.
Amanda has taken the pendant Skye entrusted Jym with, thus proving once and for all that you can't depend on him for anything. He needs to find Amanda and recover the pendant before she does something silly, like give it to the enemy for a convoluted reason as an example. To do this, he needs to venture into the desert and find the city of Jadd.
The desert around Jadd is a dangerous place, full of giant scorpions, strange lizard creatures and a valley of thick, poisonous gas. That gas prevents Jym from giving chase to the airship - which Bogard is still on by the way, we can only hope he's alright - so we might as well focus on finding Amanda. I'm sure that we won't need to solve the problems in the area to deal with the poison gas and also track down the pendant, nor will Jym has to put his life in great danger to do this.
No, what he'll need to do is kill the monsters in the area to find a bag of Fang. Sounds easy, right? After all, the enemies drop items all the time to the point that I often have to throw things away to make room. But this is Fang we're talking about here, one of the most elusive drops in the game and for people playing through the game for the first time, an essential thing you need to trade for a clue to help you progress.
At least Jym has a chocobo now, which'll make backtracking far easier. It's only a shame the chocobo sucks at solving riddles, much like I did when I was younger.
