State Opera House, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia The first ever concert by an American composer/musician in Mongolia. Levi Chen with Jonon Band and special guests Odnoo, Josh Rpsenfeld, Kenny Dread,. The intention of this concert was to promote the exchange of new musical ideas into and across Mongolia, as it was in the time of the great Mongol Khans; so that the rich musical heritage of the Mongols continues to evolve, and reach new audiences around the globe. The concert took place just 6 days after the first modern riot ever in Mongolia, and was nearly cancelled as a result. Instead Levi used all the proceeds to replace the instruments belonging to Jonon Band, which had all been stolen or lost during the looting and vandalizing of the Culture Palace. The band is actually playing borrowed instruments at the concert.
