Life on Anuta

This video was made in 2009 on the Polynesian island of Anuta at the eastern end of the Solomon islands. This tiny island is mainly self sufficient and is only visited by a supply ship once or twice a year. The video was made by Hanneke Boon at the end of the 'Lapita Voyage', when a double canoe called 'Lapita Anuta', built to the same hull design as the original canoes of Anuta was donated to the islanders for independent travel to and from the island.
