Major tragedy in Kolkata: Several feared dead in Majerhat bridge collapse

Many are feared dead as a part of the Majerhat bridge collapsed during traffic hours. Several vehicles including a bus are trapped under the debris. Fire brigade, Kolkata Police along with the NDRF is carrying out rescue and relief operations. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is in Darjeeling, has ordered a probe into the incident. Senior ministers of the state government have rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, police have cordoned off the area so that onlookers can't disturb rescue workers. 6 people have been rushed to the hospital in very critical condition.
