I got these three round rods of HSS at the flea market, old stock from long gone industry. I could not find others for sale, not even online, so I decided to make the most out of them by sharpening at both ends, so I can get more tool profiles this way.
This required a handle that allows for easy flip of the tool tip, so I'm making one in this video. It also allow for the tip length to be adjusted, so the chisels can be long like those used on the lathe or short, for engraving. I also added a brass end cap so I can tap it with a hammer when engraving metal.
I hope you like this video, even if it's not a restoration, what most of you subscribed for. Next video will be an antique tool restoration.
