Sky News contributor Bronwyn Bishop says Australia has to “again have standards” when it comes to education as the scores needed “to become a teacher are far too low”.
New NAPLAN figures from the ACT reveal writing results are down across all year levels in the past decade, but Ms Bishop said because score requirements for teacher are low, teachers are “not equipped”.
Ms Bishop told Sky News host Paul Murray “we cannot tolerate the intolerable,” and the “collectivist model” which necessitates that “everyone’s got to be equal” will spell the “end of [our] society”.
“Socialism is the fault, that’s why you’ve got Marxists in there drawing up curriculum,” she said.
