Such was not the case with Matthew Ryan and his de facto bandmates TC Davis and Corey Gray of The Sparrows. We all hit it off immediately and the result was a damn fine (and mighty fun) night of recording these fantastic songs. "Boxers" and "Then She Threw Me Like A Hand Grenade" are both off of Ryan's new release, which is also titled "Boxers". For starters, we used a modified P-49ms that in addition to a standard 49 side-addressed capsule, it features a fixed mid capsule that points toward the top of the mic. Because Matthew plays with his guitar slung low, we blended the side capsule with audio from my 2247se. I also have their P-12 picking up drums and backing vocals.
