I'm Kevin, and today we're going to talk about the English expression "No way!" Have you ever heard this expression before? Do you know what it means? Well, actually, "No way" has two meanings in English. The first meaning is to very strongly say "No." The second meaning is to show surprise. Like, "Really?" Let's look at two example conversations. First one. Person A asks: "Are you going to the party?" Person B: "No way! I'm too busy." Person B very strongly. "No. I can't go to the party." Now, our second one Person A: "I just won a million dollars!" Person B: "No way! How did you win it?" Again, Person B wants to show surprise so they use "No way." Another important point for "No way." Very different tone of voice depending which use. To strongly say no we make nice strong tone, "No way!" For surprise, a very different tone of voice. "No way!" Can you give good tone of voice? Let's give it a try. First, a strong no. Very strong tone of voice. Two times. "No way, No way!" Your turn. OK. Very good. Nice and strong. OK. Now, let's show surprise. Again, two times. "No way! , No way!" Your turn. OK. Very natural. Great. Now let's try it in the same conversations. I'll be Person A, you be Person B. First one. Strong no. "Are you going to the party?" OK. Very good, very good. Now, good surprise. Second conversation. " I just won a million dollars!" OK. Great job, great job."
