Meerkat & Periscope have been in the news a lot over the last couple months but most of the attention and focus was created and infused by the Social Media Community. Mayweather vs Pacquiao was the first major PPV event since both apps became more mainstream. There's been lots of discussion around how these apps will effect live events. Many broadcasting the PPV fight and were shutdown while many others including myself took a different angle when streaming the fight.
