The follow up to the sexy and sassy pop hit 'Pretty Girls', 'Fire in the morning' went a few places higher on Billboard'sd Top 40 chart; peaking at #32 in April of 1980. Despite these two offerings being issued as singles, neither found its wat to the 1983 Greatest Hits compilation that Melissa released. The Kenny Loggins co-write, 'Whenever i call you friend' track which haad been a major hit for Kenny and Stevie Nicks on back up vocals, was the 1979 'Melissa Manchester ' LP representative on that best of album.. Reissue of it on CD curiously did feature these two chart hits for Melissa.
