Membrane preparation by phase inversion

Batch preparation of a typical polysulfone (PSu) ultrafiltration membrane by phase inversion in water. A PSu solution in a water miscible solvent is spread onto a glass support followed by immersion in a miscible-non solvent (in this case water). Important parameters that affect the porosity of the membrane is the PSu concentration, non-solvent bath temperature, room-temperature, relative humidity, and also time between the solution spreading and immersion in water.
