Metric Modulation

Metric modulation is a device that creates the illusion of moving to a new tempo while in fact staying with the original tempo. In this case I play quarter note triplets and regroup them into 4's which gives the illusion of playing in a faster tempo. I'm playing along with "Meet the Bass Player", a great practice tool. For the first two I alternate between the original tempo and the modulated one. In the third chorus I stay in the modulated tempo.
