Military identifies flying object near DMZ as balloon carrying leaflets

軍 "23일 군사분계선 넘어온 비행체, 北 전단살포용 풍선" The South Korean military has revealed that the "unidentified object" it shot at on Tuesday... as it crossed the DMZ... was a helium-filled balloon carrying propaganda leaflets from the North. The Joint Chiefs of Staff says the military fired scores of rounds at the object. The balloon was just one of around ten that were floating across the DMZ. It's believed several of them made it across the military demarcation line. Military officials admit bad weather conditions made it difficult to identify the object at first,... but they say the soldiers acted swiftly... and in accordance with military protocol.
