Mini Cannon With Rifled Bore In Slow Motion

This is a small brass cannon with a rifled bore. A .22 air gun pellet can be used, or simply a paper wad to only fire a salute. The cannon opens at the breech and there is a spot in the bore for the pellet to seat into before the rifling starts. The powder chamber is 5/16" diameter and 3/8" long space for powder and wad. Powder used in the test fire was crushed matchheads mixed with recovered fireworks powder. The rifling was done with a self made rifling broach. The test fire section of this video was shot at 480 fps.
