Little Reds roost in large colonies and they frequently get caught on barbed wire fences, get hit by cars, electrocuted on over head power lines and they are sometimes attacked by dogs and cats. Miss Lucy was spotted by a lovely lady who was driving her children to school when she saw this little scrap struggling on the side of the road and stopped to help her. Lucy has been staying with Jo and Michael but as they have released the last of their Little Reds for the season and Miss Lucy needs a little more time, she will be over wintering with us and the couple of Reds that we still have in care. Little Reds are the true nomads of the bat world and travel over much of mainland Australia following the major flowering events, pollinating and spreading the seeds of the forests of the future. www.facebook.com/BatzillatheBat/
