Preeta Gabba, an Indian immigrant, was murdered in public in Maryland. Before her death, she had met and married a new man named Baldeo Taneja, who had a PhD in biostatistics. Taneja had started seeing Raminder Kaur during their marriage, and Gabba divorced him. Taneja and Kaur were ultimately convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Gabba.
