Violet takes her army to the desert and through the mysterious cities of the Sarranid Sultanate. In Shariz, an odd man called Rolf joins Violet's growing group of soldiers. Violet encounters other potential companions, Klethi and Bunduk along the way as well, but decides to leave'em for now. As they make their way through the desert, they see a village in the distance.
