Mt Vernon Mansion of George & Martha Washington Produced by Spencer Smith & Erick F Dirck

I could see Spencer had enough of the museums, and asked him if he wanted to see where the Father of our Country lived, "Sure" was his response. Off we went to Mt Vernon to see the Mansion George Washington lived in. We took the tour, and found out that George & Martha were entertainers. They housed many guest, and most of the time the mansion was full. They even had one guest that stayed 11 months. Martha's job was to prepare the menu, and see that the everything was running smoothly for all their guest. We even had a small visit with Martha outside of the tour. Very entertaining, and tons of information. It was a little pricey! However, the only funding they get is from the revenue they receive from the guest to maintain 8000 acres of land & all the buildings. I could understand why George lived here, and was the only president that didn't live in the White House. I had several questions to ask about the slaves, but I choose not to ask them.
