A couple preparing themselves for the heartbreaking reality of seeing their daughter's birth and death in the same day have opened up about why they made their brave decision. In December 2016, Keri and Royce Young attended their ultrasound scan and, like all other parents, were excited to learn if they were having a boy or girl. Instead, they found out the devastating news that their baby had the rare condition anencephaly, which meant she didn't have a brain and never would. The couple made the heartbreaking choice to go through with the pregnancy and deliver the baby, knowing that she will never come home with them, so that her organs could save the lives of other children.
