National News story on BC CCSVI Registry preliminary results presented at ECTRIMS

I was interviewed by Avis Favaro, Health Reporter for CTV National News that aired Oct. 18, 2012 about the BC CCSVI Registry preliminary results presented at ECTRIMS. Over 60% reported improvements in fatigue. Over 40% reported better mobility. 50% had better exercise capabilities after treatment. Over 50% thought the treatment was helpful to extremely helpful. This registry did not "officially" go to the trouble of confirming these results with medical examinations, although, I was informed by my neurologist that he was requested to submit a report to the Registry with the results of my last appointment. I believe it was set up that way so that Dr. Traboulsee could include the statement that the improvements were only based upon the "patient's perception". My neurologist graciously allowed my husband to record most of my neurological examination. He advised that I am "significantly better" and confirmed that not only had my walking "obviously improved" but also the strength in my right leg was greater using a scale of measurement used regularly by neurologists. The standard "balance test" also didn't have me falling over when I closed my eyes, for the first time in 20 years!
