Hey guys! I am super excited to give you a first look sneak peek inside of our new home! Many of you have been asking me for this so I decided even though the house isn't completely decorated - I would give you a sneak peek at what we out into it so far. We've been in this house for a little over 2 months now and let's just say it's finally coming together. I'm excited to share the blood, sweat and tears we've out into it so far. When it comes to decorating anything, I hate it. I was overwhelmed in the beginning - I'm not going to lie. I do not enjoy figuring out what looks good where and what key pieces a room needs to look "perfect". I'm terrible at narrowing things down so I knew Stevie's role in this would be crucial. Funny fact: He enjoyed decorating more than me. ha!! One afternoon we decided to walk into a couple of our favorite furniture stores to get some inspiration. We both agreed that we wanted the house to be the perfect balance of feminine and masculine. (I'm not the type who would torture my husband with a pink couch in the living room..imagine what our famous Super Bowl parties would look like. LOL)The bottom line is we wanted our home to look and feel cozy (just like our parents houses in TX!) and didn't want to make it look super Sazan-y. Ya know? The one furniture store we both loved aesthetically was West Elm. They combine our two favorite elements so well - the rustic, woody feel mixed with a modern twist. I LOVE the vibe. Its like you're getting the best of both worlds. ;) Anyways, in this video you will see why we chose certain key pieces. It's safe to say that we found a lot of cool things for our home at West Elm - probably 70% if we're getting statistical. The other percentage of things from our house were found locally at random little stores and a few flea market/thrift finds which I want to share in a part 2 video I'm thinking... **All the pieces shown/mentioned you can find at West Elm online or in stores :) I have to give a shout out to Sara Karkenny (@ss_karkenny) who is one of the home stylists at West Elm. Basically they offer a free in-house service to their customers to help you curate the perfect home. I can be pretty indecisive so it was nice having Sara there to give me her honest opinion when I needed it. She taught me that decorating a house was like dressing an outfit. You start with the key pieces and work the accessories in after. Suddenly it made so much sense to me. I also want to thank West Elm for partnering up with us on this video. They gave us some goodies to work with and it was so nice of them! By no means was this one of those things where someone comes into our home and gives it an extreme makeover. LOL. We were hands on during the entire process and spent a lot of our time and money into making our house what we envisioned. I want to do a full tour once the home is completely furnished (we're also working on a gallery wall which can take a hot minute) but once it's all done I promise to share. Progress: We just finished our bedroom and breakfast nook area so I'm excited about that. P.S. MORE HOME PICS ON MY BLOG! :) http://sazan.me/blog/2016/05/19/new-home-tour/ Let me know if a full home tour is something you guys want to see next! P.S If there were any pieces you saw in this video that you loved, you can comment below and ask me or visit westelm.com if it's mentioned!! Cheers!!
