New York Central: the West Side Line in 1927 and 1928 [Silent and Sound]У вашего броузера проблема в совместимости с HTML5
Before construction of the High Line in the 1930's, New York Central trains on the West Side Line ran at street level below 59th Street. This footage shows switching operations, probably in the area of 33rd Street and 11th Avenue. The first half, which is silent, was taken in November 1927. The second half, which has sound, is noted as having been taken in November 1928. From the way people are dressed, though, it appears to have been taken in warm weather. Parts of this footage, including the locomotive engineer mocking the cameraman, appear in my video "The New York Central in 1928-1929."
