In Part 3, we explore the elevated lines of Brooklyn. Of particular interest is the footage of the "trackless trollies" that ran along the Borough's streets up until 1960. As the name suggests, these vehicles were a hybrid creature that ran on rubber wheels while still drawing power from overhead wires. The street-level views of the trollies in operation offer us a priceless window into the Brooklyn that existed in the 1950's. Also of interest is the footage of an Electric Railroaders' Excursion Train, that ran along a Brooklyn elevated line. The train comes down to ground level, and we see it moving through a grade crossing somewhere in the outer-reaches of the Borough, perhaps Canarsie.
