Singer-Songwriter Stephanie Forryan escapes the hectic floors of Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany to an abandoned space to experiment with a new toy. The result: "Nightmare"
Backstory:
I had to wander through this abandoned space on the way to my Musikmesse gig and the echo was so cool that I started humming. That space and sound inspired the "intro" to this song. Combine that with one of the perks of working a music trade fair (getting to play with all sorts of new toys before they come out on the market), and an idea was born. I asked TC-Helicon if I could "steal" one of their new pedals for an hour and this little ditty is what happened.
For the music nerds out there:
Equipment: Voicelive 3 Extreme, MP 76 mic, Canon g12 camera.
Production: I performed the song by importing my "ha ha ha ha" a cappella backing track (made the night before) and then automating the effects. I like the idea of automation - no more staring at my feet as I try to press the right button at the right time. (Considering my clumsiness, this is a major plus.)
