The Bengal Government has decided to start a new housing scheme called Nijoshree. The houses would be in the form of flats, with all apartments having four floors of residences (ie, G+4). They would be constructed by the State Government on Government-owned land, be it in municipal areas or panchayat areas. The locations would be urban and suburban areas across the State. The flats would have to be applied for online, and they would be granted on the basis of lottery. There would be two classes of flats – 1 BHK and 2 BHK.
