NUMANISER - Gary Numan Tribute

Numaniser is my personal tribute to Gary Numan, who I credit as one of my main musical influences. Numaniser is my own creation using Gary Numan style arrangements that you typically hear in his earlier works like Replicas, The Pleasure Principle and Telekon. A few studio owners have told me to get it on Youtube, hence I did not have any original video footage of me playing the parts. Instead I've used pics of the main synth(s) used for specific parts. Numaniser parts: ASX Pro-12 - Bass on verse and the UFO take off sound at the beginning and end. Akai Miniak - Popcorn style lead with very long reverb. Roland SH-201 - Polymoog sound in verse and chorus (layered with the Oberheim), the whole audio track went through the SH-201's external audio Filter in High Pass mode for the filter sweep at the beginning of the track. Prophet 08 Bass and Lead sounds on the chorus breaks. Oberheim Matrix 1000 - Polymoog and detuned pad sounds on the bridge. Drums where from Fruity Loops with Bass and Synth drum sounds from the Minimax and Pro-12 combined. Sequenced in FL Studio 9. Behringer RX1602 Rack Mixer. Alesis MIDIVerb III. Recorded using Sound Recorder 2. Location: South Perth. Originally my Oberheim OB-SX did the buzzy bass, but it was back in Tasmania when I came to record the track, so the Pro-12 stepped in as I created a few 99% identical sound to the Oberheim except that the cutoff slope is 24dB in the Pro-12 and only 12dB in the Obie.
