Xiaomi Mi 8 Vs OnePlus 6 camera comparison. Side by side comparison, later with 200% crop. Low light, front and rear camera samples all tested and compared. Where to buy: Oneplus 6 https://goo.gl/xSSraq Mi 8: https://goo.gl/emqq56
My take on the winners:
Low light Oneplus 6 wins. Much more detail and sharper. Often the Mi 8 was blurry and needed another shot. But since this is a fair comparison I used the first attempt from each camera. So only 1 shot was used for each of the photos you see.
Front cameras: Oneplus 6 - Much better skin tones (more correct) less noise and the mic and EIS means it is much better than the Mi 8. The low light they are close but a lot of noise on the Mi 8 even if it captures more details.
Daylight: Most don't agree with me here. But the Oneplus has slightly better colours, more true to life. Better skin tones again and slightly sharper with less noise.
HDR: Very close again, but the Mi 8 HDR photos tend to look blueish and the Oneplus produces better colours and white balance is correct.
Video: OnePlus 6 has the best audio and EIS with 4k this is very obvious. But the image quality is better on the Mi 8. Much sharper and more detailed. The EIS crop hurts results in very soft footage on the Oneplus 6 that almost looks like 1440p upscaled to 4k or at least not a native 4k 1:1 readout.
