Opera "Babelis"

Opera BABELIS From silence to noise this is how we could define the story of the tower of Babel in the Bible. In the opera Babelis we tell this story from the end to the beginning, providing an opportunity to re-wind the whole deed as if in one's imagination and picture how the stirring of languages could have sounded. In this opera, the story flows from noise to silence. The whole of the musical fabric is weaved from language, even the noise heard in the electronic part is just a very densely edited and modified human voice (imagine a choir of a whole nation). Babelis is a XXIst century opera-mystery about dethroning false pride, where the focus is on the sound of stirring languages. „Let us build a city and a tower, the top of which would reach the sky, so we would immortalize our name". Operoje „Babelis" šią istoriją pasakojame nuo pabaigos į pradžią suteikdami galimybę tarsi mintyse prasukti visą veiksmą ir įsivaizduoti kaip galėjo skambėti kalbų maišymasis. Operoje veiksmas teka iš triukšmo į tylą. Visas muzikinis audinys yra išaustas iš kalbos, net elektroninėje partijoje girdimas triukšmas tėra labai tankiai sumontuotas ir modifikuotas žmogaus balsas (įsivaizduokime visos tautos chorą). „Babelis" - tai XXIa. opera-misterija apie puikybės nuvainikavimą, kurioje svarbiausias akcentas skiriamas kalbos maišymosi skambesiui. „Imkime ir pastatykime miestą ir bokštą, kurio viršūnė pasiektų dangų, kad įamžintume savo vardą".
