ENGLISH: Measuring ability of the sense of smell is not only performed to create new theories about human olfaction. In some cases, these tests might be essential for recruiting personnel. In the video attached, we can see a promotional video of a company (Sensonics, Inc.) that performs smell tests. Any problem that occures in the sense of smell as a result of a head trauma, chemical exposure or a post traumatic stress might result in the consideration of your loss of a vital sense and you may not be recruited, for example, in the U.S. Army. For this particular reason, the performing of these tests are subcontracted to private companies by the armed forces to evaluate the olfactory sufficiency of the military personnel to be recruited.
