The release of Episode 3 also came with some changes to the levels in the older episodes and some of the TC's overarching mechanics. As a result, I'll be uploading part one of this playthrough again. The AMC TC is a total conversion put together by some prominent mappers/modders within the Duke 3D community. At its core the game plays a lot like your standard Build engine game, but with a lot of light RPG elements and other introduced mechanics: multiple playable characters, weapon and player upgrades, side missions, a hub world, etc. It's certainly not perfect - the story is very vague, some level design is flawed, there are a fair few glitches and performance issues, and the mashing of different styles can be inconsistent - but I personally really enjoy the gameplay. This is one mod I've constantly revisited over the years and played through multiple times, there's nothing quite like it out there.
Anyways, I've decided to start up another playthrough of the AMC TC because apparently the third episode is being released sometime next week. The first episode released back in 2011, while the second came out back in 2015 (when I first discovered and played through the TC). I'm super hyped for the next release, so why not give this another go?
I actually uploaded another playthrough on an older channel about four years ago, my goal here is to just improve upon it. Play on a higher difficulty with fewer deaths, spend less time getting stuck in levels, have a (slightly) more consistent framerate, show off more features, etc. Basically provide a resource for folks looking for a clean walkthrough of the TC to help learn some of its more obscure mechanics or get past some tricky maps.
