Overclocking your CPU is simple with AMD catalyst, it will tune it for you and when you find a match you can manually adjust it. You can also do this through bios or other programs. Your CPU must be overclockable, and everyone's results may vary, this mostly depends on your motherboards power design and CPU capabilities, as well as power supply. CPU Overclock advantages: Slightly faster. Disadvantages: More heat, much more power, degrades CPU much faster, and causes instability.
