Pariah is the story of a young man at the crossroads. Steve, is the central character who lives a normal middle class life that is abruptly shattered one night. He is not a "good" guy, but instead an "average" person who faces a situation that is becoming increasingly common in today's turbulent world.
Steve is a 25 year old white male who feels life is beating him back. He is intimidated, full of self doubt and the only thing he has anchoring him is his girlfriend, Sam. Steve and Sam deal with constant ridicule because he is white and she is African American. But nothing prepares them for March 7th when they are randomly attacked by a gang of skinheads. Although Steve's bruises heal, Sam's rape and subsequent suicide, leave him without direction and bent on revenge.
Steve abandons everything in his life and submerses himself into the skinhead scene. A world he never imagined. Sex, hate, violence and drugs surround him as he infiltrates his former assailants. Crew, fresh out of jail is the gang's leader. He spouts Nazi rhetoric. He takes what he wants. He manipulates and pushes everyone to the bitter end. At his side is David Lee, an attack dog whose uncontrollable rage harms everyone in his way. Crew's girlfriend Sissy, fed up with the whole scene, finds herself torn between her boyfriend and freedom with Steve. Her retarded brother Doughboy, along with Lex, Babe, Tall Guy and Angela form the core of the group.
Angela is the character who ties all the different threads together and provides Steve with an in. Once inside the group, Steve finds himself in over his head while Angela follows her drug supply. Steve becomes enthralled with the music, the adrenaline and eventually, the hate. Now he must decide how far he's willing to go, how much will be enough and what exactly will compensate his rage. Will he go through with his plan or will the simplicity of hate turn him into one of them?
