Pencil Eraser Removal From Ear

A young man with Aspergers syndrome and ADHD placed erasers from a mechanical pencil in both ears. His teacher removed one of the erasers but could not extract the second one. In this video we demonstrate how to make and use a right angle hook with an 18 gauge needle to remove a soft foreign body like an eraser. Even though the procedure was frightening to our patient, we were able to calm him just enough get the job done.
