Peugeot 406 Rear Bumper Removal

How to remove the rear bumper on a Peugeot 406 Saloon, as well as strip off the rubbing strips to prepare it for painting. Its quite an easy job made difficult by rusted screws in this case the screws holding on the inner wheel arches were quite rusty and their heads got stripped, a pair of vice grips were required to remove them. I personally would throw away these screws and replace them with new ones and put copper grease over them to prevent them rusting. On the subject of rust, in behind the wheelarch cover does have a few spots of rust, and this car failed its MOT because of rust, i will be making a separate video on rusty areas of the 406 and possible treatment methods. Other than that the bumper came off with no problem, it should be fairly similar on the estate, although the various bits of interior trim that need to be moved aside will be different. Hopefully this video is helpful if you need to remove your rear bumper, perhaps to respray it, change it, or fix a leaking boot. Them bolt holes have rubber washers on the inner nuts which if perished can leak, so when putting them back on use a bit of tiger seal to cure any water leaks if you have such a problem.
